Katie Gillies, MMS, PA-C

Katie grew up in Carol Stream, Illinois, a suburb outside the city of Chicago. After high school she attended the Honors College at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education and Spanish. While at Ball State University, Katie was on the Dean’s List all semesters, received numerous academic and volunteer awards, and was most notably an endorsed Rhodes Scholar candidate. She additionally studied abroad in Cuernavaca, Mexico and Segovia, Spain.

Post graduation Katie taught Spanish and English as a Second Language (ESL) at Lake Park High School in Roselle, Illinois. While teaching she earned her Masters certificate in ESL from Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois. She spent six years working in education, developing curriculum, and coaching prior to moving to Arizona and changing careers to pursue medicine.

After teaching, Katie attended Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona where she earned her Masters in Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies. As a student she had the opportunity to explore a variety of medical specialties, ultimately discovering a passion for urology. She has recently fulfilled her profession goal by joining the team at Academic Urology and Urogynecology of Arizona.

Katie now resides in the West Valley with her husband, daughter, and two English bulldogs. Her hobbies include tennis, reading, cooking, and cheering for the Chicago Blackhawks.
