Dr. David Kaplan and Dr. Chandan Kundavaram Named Top Doctors by Phoenix Magazine

For 20 years, Phoenix Magazine’s “Top Docs” issue has been the Valley’s most influential publication that ranks physicians here in the Phoenix area. Phoenix Magazine’s top doctors are selected through a survey of 5,000 randomly selected doctors throughout the valley each year. These doctors are asked to nominate peers who, in their judgement, represent the best in their field.

Dr. David Kaplan MD and Dr. Chandan Kundavaram MD of Academic Urology & Urogynecology of Arizona were named top doctors in this year’s Phoenix Magazine “Top Docs” issue.

“I would like to first congratulate all of the providers that have made it to the list of top docs. It is well deserved for each and every one of them. We are honored to be added to this list of physicians amongst so many great others. This is a team effort, not just us as doctors. We could not get this award without everyone in our office staff. From the top to the bottom, they are always working hard to make sure we can offer the best care for our patients. I thank them for that.” – Dr. David Kaplan MD

Dr. David Kaplan MD

Dr. Kaplan has been with Academic Urology & Urogynecology of Arizona for 7 years. His philosophy is to treat patients from the perspective of a family member. He strives to communicate to patients all aspects of their urologic disease and formulate a plan of treatment with the patient that will suit their medical needs. In addition, Dr. Kaplan also believes in the importance of multidisciplinary care and works hard to communicate with other medical providers in order to develop a team approach to treating each individual.

Dr. Chandan Kundavaram MD

Dr. Kundavaram joined AUUA in November of 2015 after completing urologic residency and a fellowship focusing on laparoscopy and robotics. He enjoys providing comprehensive urologic care to his patients, but has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery – including advanced laparoscopic techniques as well as robotic-assisted surgery. He believes in understanding patients as a whole. This includes listening to and engaging patients in conversation to understand the implications of their condition. After explaining the benefits and negatives of various therapeutic options and providing evidence-based clinical recommendations, he hopes to arrive at an individualized treatment plan with his patients that will best suit their needs and treat their problem. He is currently accepting new patients.
